Dan Crockett grew up on the Suffolk coastline, in an isolated farmhouse overflowing with books. His father sailed around the world for fifteen years; the wild and the sea are in his blood. For twenty years he has immersed himself in nature as a walker, poet and surfer. His extensive writing aims to inspire a closer human relationship with nature.
This includes films Uncommon Ideals (award-winning, 150,000 views, shown on Channel 4), Edges of Sanity (200,000 views, voiced by Charles Dance) and Without Thought. Journalism and poetry appears in The Ecologist, The Journal of Wild Culture, Kinfolk, Sidetracked, Surfer’s Journal, Caught by the River, Huck, the Guardian and many others. A more detailed portfolio may be found here.
Wildonomics is his first book.
